Special Greetings to the Salvation Army Worldwide Family

Pilarportal.com — London -Saturday 20 May is marking history as we welcome 112 duly qualified leaders to London for the sole purpose of electing the 22nd General of the International Salvation Army.I remind you today of this important time in our history so I can ask you to pray for those gathered at historic Sunbury Court as they seek God’s perfect will. The High Council will be in session this coming week, beginning on Monday.

Sunday 21 May there is space for preparation of the heart through worship and prayer and then on Monday, the High Council is duly constituted with the election of the President, Vice President and Chaplain. It is then that the High Council sets out on its only responsibility to elect our new General.

With you, Commissioner Rosalie and I wait. We will follow each day through the reporting, waiting for the announcement of nominees and eventually the grand announcement. You can follow social media posts via IHQ website www.salvationarmy.org but mostly keep praying.

For us, leading this Army in 133 countries has been a privilege of a lifetime. Though there is yet more to do, that takes us to 2 August, we describe our journey by our witness to God’s anointing, the benefits of prayer from His people and as a result, we give praise for the evidence of God’s hand of blessing on the Army.

We have walked through these last years whispering Isaiah 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Amen!

I claim this promise for the High Council but as well, I invite you in the circumstances of your life to claim that verse. Together, lets trust our God, celebrate His presence.

Say again, we are in His hands. As never before I pray for the Army and the reality that it is our privilege to walk with God, to trust Him and rely upon His sovereign will. I believe that we can be safe in God’s hands, because God is faithful.
